For 11 days a year many thousands of people come from all over the UK, Europe, America and the rest of the world to join a carnival celebration of ideas and stories at the Hay Festival.

The programme of some six hundred events takes place in the tented festival village during the spring bank holiday.

The Haydays Programme takes readers into the world of stories, and lighting the spark of what it takes to create them. Appearing on stage this year will be storytellers from all around the world. There will also be opportunities to explore science, technology and creativity in an interactive series of workshops.
